The Annetta Town Council approved the installation of two new propane tanks at its meeting on Sept. 19. They have been placed at the Lakes of Aledo and at Water Plant No. 4.
The council approved the expenditures of $6,400 for the installation and filling of the tanks from vendor Haigood & Campbell LLC.
Also, Mayor Pro Tem Kent Stacey read the proclamation for World Teacher Day.
“The Town of Annetta will proclaim that Oct. 5, 2024, will be Teacher day in the City of Annetta. We ask that the citizens of Annetta support our teachers by displaying ribbons from their homes and places of business. This will be a symbol of support for the Aledo teachers.”
Another item on the agenda was administering the oath of office to Brandon Thompson, council member Place 3. Thompson, however, was not present at this meeting but is scheduled to be officially sworn in before the next council meeting, which is set for 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 17 at Annetta City Hall, 450 Thunder Head Lane.
